Ryan Moreno

CEO & Co-Founder, Joseph Richard Group & Meal Ticket Brands

Ryan Moreno is co-founder and CEO of The Joseph Richard Group, one of BC’s fastest-growing hospitality companies. The company currently operates 25 food, beverage and retail establishments, a private beer label, an estate winery, and a full-service catering company. Under Ryan’s direction, the company has further diversified its portfolio by entering the online space by launching Meal Ticket Brands and LIQR.CA. Operating strictly online,  Ryan’s ability to leverage technology to push innovation and development beyond the hospitality industry’s traditional limits proved to be a success and filled in the gaps created by COVID-19. 

In addition to operating within the hospitality sector, Ryan holds a commercial real estate portfolio and is an operating partner at Search + Rescue Marketing Agency which he started in 2005. 

Ryan launched the Annual JRG Sleep Out Fundraising Campaign in 2017 as a result of his involvement with Covenant House. To date, the initiative has raised over $455,000 for 6 local charities supporting local vulnerable youth. These organizations include Covenant House, Youth Unlimited, City Dream Centre and Variety the Children’s Charity. Ryan sits on the Board of Governors for the South Surrey Independent School Society, which operates Southridge School. Ryan has been named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® in 2018 and 2019 and was awarded 2018 Business Person of the Year by South Surrey White Rock Chamber of Commerce. 

Colin Burslem

Culinary Director, Joseph Richard Group

Chef Colin Burslem joined the team at the Joseph Richard Group as Culinary Director in 2020. He is a leader, a developer and an innovator. He has a personable approach to leadership but also asks tough questions to keep his team and himself accountable to the vision. Chef Colin’s diverse background in culinary and his time spent in the industry with over 20 years of experience in hotels, restaurants, catering, private dining, philanthropic events, weddings and consulting have made menu development second in nature. 

His career with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has taken him on a journey across North America including Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Vancouver Airport, Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park, Fairmont Mayakoban Mexico, Four Season Hotel Vancouver and Marriott International.

Chef Colin’s work ethic and capacity to lead has go unnoticed when he was recognized as Leader of the Year at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 2010 and again in 2016. His resume also includes critically acclaimed AAA 5 diamond restaurants and in 2016 under his leadership, Globe@YVR received the award for #1 rated Airport Restaurant in North America. In 2017 Chef Colin participate in an Accor Group chef exchange at their headquarters in Paris, France and in the same year received the People’s Choice Award from Chef Meets BC Grape. Chef Colin’s most recent accolade in 2020 is the notable Vancouver Notch8 which was named Best Vancouver Lounge. 

Andy Slinn

Executive Chef, Joseph Richard Group

Chef Andy Slinn is the Executive Chef at The Joseph Richard Group and has been a key part of the team since the opening of Townhall Public House Langley in 2010. Chef Slinn earned his Red Seal certification in 2011 and had over ten years’ experience in a lead culinary role prior to joining the company. Andy was the first chef hired at The Joseph Richard Group and is responsible for having developed the food and beverage
selection that is currently available at all JRG establishments and divisions including Meal Ticket Brands and Blank Canvas Catering. Chef Slinn continues to work directly with every onsite culinary team to ensure the highest level of food product is presented at every location.

Marie Wynne

Director of Human Resources, Joseph Richard Group

Marie has been with the company since 2015 as Personnel Director managing all aspects of the human resources department. Marie has implemented onboarding processes and procedures during her time at the company while constantly fine-tuning recruitment, training and development initiatives. Marie is in contact with legal representatives on a regular basis given the nature of the rapidly expanding businesses and brand within The Joseph Richard Group of Companies.

Jason Apple

Director of Growth & Brand Development, Meal Ticket Brands

Jason Apple is responsible for the growth, brand development, team leadership and business expansion across Canada through strategic partnerships and new concept development. Jason’s background and passion for start-ups and hospitality led him to Meal Ticket Brands, with his most recent endeavour as co-founder of an award-winning food truck & catering company; earning Western Living’s“ Foodie of the Year” award and enRoute Magazine’s “Best New Restaurant in Canada, People’s Choice” awards.

Danielle Ashworth 

Director of Operations, Meal Ticket Brands

Danielle started with the Joseph Richard Group in 2012 as a server at Townhall Langley. Danielle was an integral part of the opening team at Oak & Thorne in 2015 as General Manager which quickly became one of the busiest stores in the company and Dani quickly demonstrated her grasp of the business and was promoted to Store Based Regional Manager in 2017 where she managed operations at 3 locations. Since then Danielle has taken responsibility for various divisions in the company including locations within both the restaurant and public house divisions and the opening and management of Pop-Up activations. Most notably, Danielle has successfully managed the operations for Meal Ticket Brands and all delivery operations across 13 to 15 locations at any one time. 

Andrew Roberson 

Regional Chef, Joseph Richard Group

Andrew, has been with the Joseph Richard Group for 11+ years having served as the Head Chef at multiple locations. He is a “vegetarian chef” which allows for fully developed sauces and seasonings as he can’t rely on the flavour of the protein as he avoids tasting meat products. Andrew was selected to lead the opening team at Oak & Thorne and quickly moved into a regional role shortly thereafter. He currently oversees the culinary teams at Stanley Park Brewpub, The Buck & Ear, Livelyhood, Oak & Thorne, Townhall South Surrey along with working closely with IT systems.
